What happens on your visit

  1. Assess

We find the source of the problem and what it will take to put right.

  2. Explain and quote

You hear the options and the cost of any parts before we go ahead.

  3. Repair or return

Fixed on the day where parts allow, or a return visit is booked.

Before your appointment

Have these details ready

Where the problem is, when it started, your postcode and any access restrictions.

Ask about the work, charges, documentation and anything that would be quoted separately.

Help with everyday plumbing problems

A leaking fitting, faulty tap or damaged pipe can disrupt your home. Tell UKHS what has happened and where you are based so we can discuss an assessment and the work required.

Jobs we can discuss

  • Leaking taps and plumbing fittings.
  • Pipework repairs and replacement.
  • Sink, toilet and shower plumbing.
  • Planned fitting or appliance connection work.

What to tell us

Describe where the problem is, when it started and whether water is still leaking. Have your postcode ready and mention any access restrictions. Photographs may help once we have agreed how to receive them.

Agreeing the work

Some problems need an on-site assessment before a repair can be priced. Ask about the visit charge, parts and what the quotation includes. We will discuss the proposed work before you decide.

Urgent plumbing enquiries

If the problem needs immediate attention, call to check availability. An online enquiry is not a confirmed emergency booking.

Questions about plumbing repairs

What should I tell you when I call?

Where the problem is, when it started, whether water is still escaping and your postcode. A photo helps once we’ve agreed how you can send it.

Can you give me a price over the phone?

We can explain how the visit is charged. The cost of the repair usually depends on what the engineer finds, so anything beyond the visit is quoted before it goes ahead.

Is a leak an emergency?

If water is escaping and you can’t stop it, call us rather than using the form. If it’s safe to do so, turning off your stop tap limits the damage while you wait.
